About This House Sit
House & Pet Sit in Tuross Head — A Hidden Gem on the NSW South Coast
Imagine waking up to coastal air, stepping onto your deck with a coffee, and spending your days exploring one of the most beautiful and unspoiled beach destinations on the NSW South Coast. Tuross Head is a quiet, relaxed community — the kind of place people dream about escaping to. This is your chance to actually live it.
The Home
You’ll have a comfortable three-bedroom, two-bathroom home all to yourself, with a fully fenced yard and two generous decks perfect for morning coffees or evening wind-downs. Help yourself to the veggie garden, and enjoy having a genuine coastal base for however long you’re here. The home sleeps multiple people comfortably — a king, a queen, and a single.
Please note: Tuross Head has no public transport, so your own vehicle is essential to make the most of the area.
Your Companions
You’ll be sharing your days with two remarkable dogs, both female and desexed.
Stout is a Belgian Shepherd and a trained assistance animal. Calm, intelligent, and beautifully behaved, she’ll be your loyal shadow from the moment you arrive. She loves a ball game and will make you feel like the most important person in the world.
Fernie is a pure alpine dingo — 100% genetics — and genuinely one of a kind. Cheeky, affectionate, and deeply social with other dogs, she has the independent spirit you’d expect from a dingo. She sleeps up to 18 hours a day, but when she’s awake she needs engagement, stimulation, and outdoor time. She is not leash-recall reliable with anyone other than her owners, so off-lead time will need to be in the secured yard.
Both dogs are indoor companions who want to be with you — not shut outside or left alone for long stretches.
What the Sit Involves
Two walks a day is the main commitment — they don’t need to be run, just out and moving. Throwing the ball for Stout at the beach or parks.
A longer adventure once a day works just as well. Car rides, beach walks, and exploring the local trails all count. The more you include them in your day, the happier everyone will be.
This sit is best suited to someone who genuinely enjoys active outdoor living and understands that these dogs are family — not a chore.
Support & Community
You won’t be on your own. There are local friends nearby who are happy to support whoever takes the sit, and Tuross Head is a wonderfully welcoming community.
Dates
The primary sit runs approximately end of August through to 23 September. Exact dates on leaving are still being confirmed — happy to discuss what works. Read more...
