Looking for a kind housesitter/ s from 24/10/2026 to 7/11/2026 . Lovely Mid -West France location

Experienced, reliable , honest, clean, non smoking animal lover to look after a menagerie for between 10-14 days from around 24 October 2026 till 7 November- lWe are a flexible on the dates/ length of time away hence I have stated 10-14 days. We could move the start date back too if necessary to fit in with you. I really want to find the “ right “ person! I am looking for someone or a couple with proven ability to look after 2 horses, 2 donkeys, 1 dog , 3 cats , a few chickens, 2 ducks , 1 cheeky goat, tropical and pond fish. Maintenance of house i..e. cleaning, keeping tidy. Feeding poultry ( no letting out or shutting in required as they have automated doors), feeding and playing with the dog , feeding cats, checking / watering of horses, giving medication to one of the horses, , checking , feeding and watering of goat and donkeys. Goat also requires medication once every 2 days. Feed hay if necessary. Feeding tropical fish. Observing general health and well being of aforementioned animals, reporting back to owners or neighbours if an emergency should arise. Nestled in Deux Sevres rolling country side in a private and secluded location but only 1 km from small village in Mid West France. Welcoming, comfortable but basic rustic, centrally heated ( heat pump) accommodation, about 1 hour 15 minutes from Vendee Coast. English TV available by satellite. Wifi too. Cave in the village selling wines, beers and spirits. Great Bar / restaurant in village within walking distance. Use of a vehicle ( pick up) is included for a licensed driver. We have hot summers here and the weather usually continues to be fine throughout the autumn. The location is very secluded and there are no near neighbours. The nights are very dark here as there is little light pollution! There is a bar/ restaurant in the village within walking distance that serves great lunches or evening meals at the weekend. However you do have to drive to get .anywhere else There are other bars and restaurants within 5/ 10 mins by car. There are quite a lot of animals here and varied species but they are all easy to handle and friendly. It is important to state that they do need regular care, checking and fussing! We normally clean the donkeys field of donkey poo daily and it would be ideal if our house sitters could do the same. Though this isn’t an obligation. We have a large garden and potager ( veggie garden). There might be some watering to do depending on the weather. Yes Restrictions: Own pets must be good around poultry and large animals such as horses and donkeys. We also have 3 cats so own dog must not chase cats.
