Ostend, Belgian North Sea Coast, Beautiful townhouse from 1920's, care for 2 cats needed from the 13th-22nd of October 2026

We are looking for 1 person to take care of our house and two cats while we're away from October 13th-22nd. You should have prior experience with caring for cats. We need someone who can commit to keeping our plants and cats happy. Non-smokers, and no substance/alcohol users. Please only apply if you realize that you main job would be to spend time with both cats and care for them. Preferably you don't need to be working online full time during your stay. One of them is a Bengal cat who can be rather vocal and needs a lot of playtime, attention, company and care. We will ask you to water the plants, feed, and play with our cats several times a day. We still keep our cats separate for now since they are going through a long introduction process. They each occupy one floor of the house (our resident cat being mostly upstairs and the new cat being mostly downstairs). Kichu is a Bengal cat that's vocal, needs a lot of attention and company and playtime. They both get rather stressed when we’re away so we need someone who can really commit to making the care for a priority. Caring for two cats that both require attention but are on two separate floors has its challenges that’s why we need someone who can fully commit to this task. Also, we would ask you to have the two of them meet for a snack together once a day (this has been an easy daily event for the two of them). It's a truly beautiful, newly renovated house built at the beginning of the 20th century. A quiet neighborhood, with a wonderful big park just across the street, close to the center of Ostend, and only a 10-minute walk to the beach. 13 minutes by train to stunning Brugge. It's important to us that the cats have as little stress as possible while we're away. We'd like to find someone who is friendly, calm, and can commit to keeping the space neat and the cats healthy. Someone who has a regular daily routine would be ideal as cats like routines and rhythms. There's a ground floor and first floor. We need someone who can also stay in touch if needed. We'd expect you to leave the house as clean as you found it. There is no TV. FYI: On the top floor there is a holiday apartment which belongs to the owner of the whole building. Sometimes (a few times a year) the owner and his family come for a short weekend visit. They're very friendly people. The hallway is shared with them in that case.
