About This House Sit

We are presently looking for a house and dog sitter for approximately 2 weeks, in May. Our time is flexible. We will not make a firm commitment to travel until we have found a dog sitter. We are looking for an experienced and reliable dog-sitter, who would enjoy living in a quiet seaside neighbourhood. Your main responsibility is to take care of Charlie, our 9 year old Shih Tzu, who is a cute little dog and is easy to love. He came to us as a rescue dog. The main issue now with Charlie is that he is losing his sight and will need to be on his leash at all times when outside the house. Charlie would be most comfortable with a couple or a single person and may not do well with young children. We would like it if you could arrive a day or 2 before we leave, so that we can introduce you to Charlie. It will give you and Charlie time to get to know each other. It will allow for you to learn his daily routine and his favourite walks. As well as looking after Charlie, we would appreciate it if you can keep our home clean, collect our mail and water our plants. Our home is a very comfortable 3-bedroom house, situated on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada. We live in a small peaceful, picturesque seaside community. Our community has everything you would need. There are shops, a library, churches, marina, hiking trails, pharmacy, post office, and restaurants. If you enjoy walking, you will find you can reach most places by walking. The main shopping area is about a 30 minute walk from our home. As well, there are several beautiful beaches close by. We live in a very quiet safe area. Our house is set back from the road and there are woods behind the house for privacy. Our quiet road leads to the ocean and on a clear day you can see out to the Peggy's Cove area. Lobster fishermen can be seen tending to their lobster pots most of the year and fresh lobster can be bought close by. The city of Halifax is a 40 min. drive away and it offers all the things a big city would have. Our community is approximately 40 kms. away from our major city of Halifax, therefore having your own vehicle or a rental would be a necessity. We would want you to be able to spend a few days with us before we leave to get to know our home, our routines and our community. As well, we would very much appreciate that you keep in contact with us through email while we are away. We can only accept non-smokers. Please provide References. No, sorry.
